Iran, Council of World Churches to Hold Interfaith Dialogue

The 7th interfaith dialogue between Iran and the World Council of Churches will start on Saturday in Tehran.

 The Center for Interfaith Dialogue affiliated to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) will host the event whose main theme is “Spirituality and Modernity”. 

Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, Supreme Leader’s senior advisor, Olav Fykse Tveit, secretary general of the World Council of Churches, and Hojat-ol-Islam Yunesi, special assistant to Iran’s president will address the event’s opening ceremony.
Head of the ICRO Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, head of the Islamic Culture and Thought Research Center Hojat-ol-Islam Rashad and Archbishop Sebuh Sarkisian, Armenian Orthodox primate of the diocese of Tehran, will be among other participants at the ceremony.
16 papers are planned to be presented in the two-day interfaith dialogue meeting, featuring a range of topics such as spirituality and modern humanities, spirituality and modern technology, spirituality and modern philosophy, and spirituality and modern arts.
