The two countries conveyed agreement to strengthen cooperation in the halal industry through the development of regional and global value chains as part of their countries’ strategic partnership.

“With our respective strengths in the halal industry, Indonesia and Thailand can support each other in building regional and global halal industry value chains,” said Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

He addressed that the collaboration is part of strengthening Indonesia and Thailand’s strategic economic partnership and implementing the two countries’ partnership roadmap.

During a bilateral meeting, Prabowo and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul also agreed to expand investment, improve market access, and strengthen partnerships between business actors.

These efforts will be realized through the establishment of a Joint Trade Committee as a mechanism to discuss business opportunities and address trade barriers.

Prabowo said the two countries will prioritize cooperation in food security, logistics, supply chains, energy, and the digital economy.

Indonesia and Thailand also agreed to expand their partnership in connectivity and transportation, marked by the opening of direct flight routes from Jakarta to Bangkok and Denpasar to Phuket.

Besides economic cooperation, the two countries are committed to strengthening political and security cooperation.

Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to the Thai government for assisting in the repatriation of Indonesian nationals who were victims of online fraud.

“The number is quite significant, approaching 1,000 Indonesian citizens. This is truly meaningful assistance and demonstrates the close ties between Indonesia and Thailand,” Prabowo said.
