“Islamic United Ummah” Int’l Forum Planned in Qom
Speaking at a press conference, Seyyed Hassan Abedian, research deputy of the Supreme Council of Jurisprudence, said that the first forum of the series will be organized on June 11 and 12 with the participation of Grand Ayatollah Sobhani and intellectuals from 11 countries.
The secretary of the forum said that components of an Islamic Ummah in the fields of law, politics, culture, science and society will be investigated at the program.
He noted that “The United Ummah” is a Quranic term for an ideal Ummah that has parts and layers which should be re-identified.
In order to promote the quality of the forums, some 19 specialized pre-meetings on various judiciary, political and cultural issues have been held so far, he added.
Following the call for the forum, some 184 papers were sent to the secretariat of the program, among which 34 works were selected to be presented in three specialized sessions during the opening day of the forum.
Imam Khomeini (RA) Complex for Higher Education in the holy city of Qom will host the two-day forum.
The closing ceremony of the forum will be addressed by Grand Ayatollah Sobhani and Ayatollah A’rafi, principal of the international university.
