Afghanistan's Senate Honors Top Quran Reciters

Afghanistan's Senate on Sunday honored a number of the country's top Quran reciters.

During its general session, the senate lauded the achievements of several Afghan Qaris who have won top ranks in international Quranic events.
Ahemd Irshad Memozi, who bagged the first prize in Egypt international Quran competition and Ubaidullah Ubaid who won the third title in Iran's international Quran contest were among those honored, Fars news agency reported.
There was also Motiollah Mutmain who came third in the international Quran competition of Kuwait.
In recent years, Afghanistan's Quran reciters and memorizers have done quite well in international Quranic events.
