Qodratollah Qassemi added that 1386 students, 891 boys and 495 girls, will compete in separate sections in the 9-day contest, Iran reported.
He stated that these students have made it to the final round of the competition after presenting the best performances in school, city and provincial stages.
The competition will be held in Urumia University, in Urumia, capital of West Azarbaijan province, on August 13-16 for boys and August 18-21 for girls, Qassemi noted.
Memorization of the Holy Quran (different levels), Quran recitation, interpretation of the Quran, Tawasheeh (religious singing), Adhan (call to prayers) and Nahj-ul-Balaqa are some of the categories of the competition.
