Speaking to IQNA, Behrouz Yarigol underlined that a Quran recite should act upon the Quran and have Quranic behavior if his recitation is to be effective in society.
He said recitation of the Quran has two aspects, the outer beauty and the promotion of Quranic culture.
Yarigol said both the Qari and the listeners enjoy the beauty of Quran recitation, noting that when (late Egyptian Qari) Abdul Basit Abdul Samad recited the Quran, even non-Muslims enjoyed it.
He reiterated, however, that it is acting upon the Quran that makes a recitation effective (in fostering the teachings of the Holy Book).
Elsewhere in his remarks, Yarigol highlighted the need for identifying and rearing Quranic talents in long-term programs and said the Dar-ol-Quran Karim Organization has already started such a program by identifying and training 80 teenage Quranic talents.
