Mecca Int’l Conference to Feature Islamic Culture, Tradition and Modernity

“Islamic Culture, Tradition and Modernity” will be the main theme of the 15th annual international conference in the holy city of Mecca.


According to Okaz newspaper, this edition of the conference will be held on the first week of Dhil Hajjah, a month in the lunar Islamic calendar which begins on September 26.

Like the previous years, the program will be organized by the Islamic World Assembly in the Hajj season.

Scholars, intellectuals, university lecturers and representatives of Islamic associations from all over the world participate at the international event.

“Human Rights, Islamic Shari’ah, and International Interactions” was the main theme of the conference last year.

“Muslims and contemporary Challenges”, “International Relations, Islam and contemporary Civilization”, “Islamic Ummah Facing Challenges”, “Civilized and Cultural Dialogue, Its Objectives and Fields”, “Methods of Islamic Sciences”, “Helping the Prophet of Ummah” and “Introduction of Islam in Non-Muslim Countries, Reality and Perspective” have been discussed at the previous editions of the conference.

Participants in previous editions have also investigated “Problems of the Muslim Youth in the Globalization Era”, “Media Challenges in Globalization Era” and “Dissemination of Islam, Now and Future”.
