The custodianship of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala has invited satellite TV channels to take part in the second edition of the international “Arba’een Media Festival”.

According to Buratha website, Seyyed Yaser Al-Heidari, organizer of the festival, said that satellite TV channels have been invited to participate in the competition by submitting their best programs about Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising.

The main objective of the competition is to disseminate the noble teachings of Imam Hussein (AS) and the culture of Ashura.

Al-Heidari said those willing to attend the festival can submit short films, TV news reports, documentaries, and photos to the organizing committee of the contest.

The organizer of the international event noted that February 19 is the deadline for submitting works.

Winners of the first edition of the festival were awarded in a ceremony last week.

Every year, millions of Muslims around the world mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his 72 faithful companions on Ashura, the tenth day of the first month of the lunar calendar year Muharram.

Muharram mourning ceremonies symbolize eternal and unwavering stance of truth against falsehood and humanity's struggle against tyranny realized by Imam Hussein (AS).
