A series of Quran copies in Braille were distributed among the visually-impaired in Palestine.

According to Shifa news agency, the copies were gifted by an Emirati charity foundation in cooperation with Palestine’s al-Rahma charity society.
Sayid Salih al-Aql, director of the society, said the Braille Quran copies were distributed to help the visually-impaired in learning the Quran and raising their religious awareness.
He said more Braille copies of the Holy Book will be handed out in the near future and educational courses on reading texts in Braille will also be held.
Braille is a writing system which enables the blind and partially-sighted people to read and write through touch.
It was invented by Louis Braille (1809-1852), who was blind and became a teacher of the blind.
