According to hqmi.org, the ceremony was held by World Association of Quran Memorization in cooperation with the Islamic Council of Dissemination and Emergency Services under the supervision of Al-Azhar Islamic Center.
The conference hall of Nasr District in Cairo hosted the prize-giving ceremony.
Memorization of the entire Quran with ‘Ashr recitations, Quran memorization along with the memorization of Al-Jazriyyah (a famous Tajweed source of Sunni Muslims), Quran memorization along with meanings of the verses and memorization of the Quran and 490 Nabawi Hadiths were the categories of the competition.
Titled “Sayyedah Zeynab (SA)”, the competition was held with the participation of 700 female Quran memorizers from different provinces of Egypt.
A judging committee of 6 Quran experts of the country supervised the Quranic event.
The ceremony began with Quran recitation by Israa’ Sa’eed Al-Seyyed Al-Handawi, the first-rank winner of the competition in the category of memorization of the entire Quran with ‘Ashr recitations.
Muhammad Raf’at Abu’ilm, director of the association’s branch in Cairo addressed the program.
He encouraged the participants to promote their Quranic skills, particularly in Tajweed and recitation of the verses.
