Bohra Community to Hold Quran Contest
-- The Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community residing in the PGCC countries held ‘Musabeqat Hifz Al Quran Al Kareem’ (memorisation of Quran competition) at Masjid Al Burhani in Ghusais Monday.
The event presided over by Shehzada Aliasgar Bhaisaheb Kalimuddin Saheb, a prominent scholar, academician and younger brother of Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community.
Hafiz ul Quran Syed Hussain bin Mufaddal Saifuddin, a renowned Qazi and grandson of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin from Mumbai to attend the event.
7,000 community members expected
A number of participants from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the UAE tooke part in the Quran memorisation competition.
About 7,000 community members attended the event which organised under the auspices of Mahad uz Zahra, Al Jamiatus Saifiyah, Surat.
