Arbaeen; A Global Media for Promoting Quranic Culture
Speaking to IQNA, Mohammad Khajavi said inviting reciters from other countries, in addition to strengthening Quranic interactions, will transform Arbaeen into a global media for promoting the Quranic culture.
Asked about the importance of the presence of Quran reciters from different countries in the Arbaeen procession, he said this suggestion is very valuable and worth considering.
Of course, from the perspective of technical and artistic capabilities, the reciters of the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoy a very distinguished and significant position among Islamic countries, and in this regard, there is no need to use others to improve the level of recitations, he said.
“However, the presence of reciters from other Islamic countries and even Muslims from other parts of the world can bring valuable cultural achievements. These individuals, while participating in Quranic circles and performing recitation programs, will experience firsthand the unparalleled grandeur, splendor, and spirituality of the Arbaeen march,” he noted.
“After returning to their countries, they can, as cultural and Quranic ambassadors, recount their observations and experiences to a wider audience and play a role in correctly introducing this great movement.”
The Arbaeen mourning ceremony, which falls on August 4 this year, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
It marks the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Imam Hussein (AS).

Iran also sends a Quranic convoy, known as the Noor Convoy, to Iraq during the Arbaeen procession.
The members of Iran’s Noor Convoy perform different Quranic and religious programs, including recitation of the Quran, Adhan (call to prayers), and Tawasheeh, on the road between Najaf and Karbala and elsewhere during the Arbaeen march.
