Speaking at a celebration held at Anwar Mosque, President of the Addis Ababa Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Hajji Seid Gizaw, said that the Muslim faithful should play the foremost role in the overall development endeavors of the country.
Hajji Seid finally called on Muslims to promote and strengthen the culture of peaceful coexistence with followers of other religions.
According to the latest 2007 national census, Islam is the second most widely practiced religion in Ethiopia and a third of its population are Muslims.
