Permission Issued for Construction of New OIC Headquarters in Jeddah

The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, has received the construction permission for the new OIC headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Preparations for announcing the international competition for the project, are expected to begin shortly in order to start the construction process which will constitute a qualitative shift in the OIC work which should redouble its activities and help it to deliver its message which is aimed at promoting Islamic solidarity.
The OIC had signed the headquarters agreement with Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the Fourth Extra-ordinary Islamic Summit, in Jeddah on August 13, 2012.
