The summit will be held under the theme of "Strategic Planning of Economic Cooperation between Russia and OIC Countries".
Facilitating the promotion of economic and financial relationships based on Islamic principles is the mission of the Kazan summit which aims to identify strategic development prospects of international economic relationships between Russia and Muslim countries, develop cooperation in the sphere of direct investment in private sectors of Russia and Muslim countries and to organize public discussions and the development of recommendations on Islamic financial system operation.
Representatives of financial institutions, investors, businessmen, representatives of government authorities, scholars and academics from Russia, CIS countries, OIC countries, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East will participate at the program.
It will be addressed by eminent figures and representatives of government authorities, scholars, Sharia experts, businessmen, bankers, and professional moderators.
In 2009, the First International Summit of Islamic Business and Finance was held under the organization of IFC Linova (Tatarstan, Russia), the Islamic Research and Training Institute (Saudia Arabia), Kuala-Lumpur Business School (Malaysia), and the Russian Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance of the Russian Islamic University (Tatarstan, Russia). The summit, which gathered together representatives from 20 different countries, resulted in the creation of the Islamic Business and Finance Development Foundation, which become the main organizer of Kazan Summit.
