Women Quran Researchers Confab Slated for January 17
Scientific secretary of the 10th International Conference of Women Quran Researchers said the conference is slated to be held on January 17 at Milad Tower in Tehran.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Abdollahian told IQNA that, like every year, 28 women Quran researchers will be honored at the event.
He said when the conference was first held ten years ago, some predicted that it would not continue because there are not that many women Quran researchers in the country so that 28 of them could be honored every year.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abdollahian noted that the women selected to be honored this year are from Iran, Qatar, India, Iraq, Lebanon, Tajikistan, Gaza and Iraq.
He added that 2000 women from Tehran and other provinces will take part in this year’s conference at Milad Tower.
He also said that the theme of this edition of the event is Surah Yasin of the Holy Quran, which is known as the “heart of the Quran”, and the Surah that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has urged to become part of the public culture in the Islamic society.
According to the cleric, 20 books published about Surah Yasin will be distributed among the participants at the 10th conference.
He went on to say that another special conference on the Surah is planned to be held a few months later in the holy city of Qom. It will be titled “Yasin in the Mirror of Ma’rifa (knwolegde)”.
