Deadline for Abstracts to Islamic Movements Int’l Conference Extended

The deadline for sending abstract papers to the 1st international conference on contemporary Islamic movements in the Greater Middle East has been extended to April 9.
According to the information website of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS), the research center will hold the conference on April 27 and 28 in Tehran.
The conference intends to address the contemporary Islamic movements, at both theory and practice levels, in order to arrive at a deeper and more sophisticated understanding of their impact and role in the on-going developments in the Muslim countries of the region.
It will focus on the Muslim Brotherhood; its history, origins, its impact on the countries in the region, as well as on the role and impact of other Islamic movements influenced by or aligned with it.
All interested scholars, Iranian and otherwise, have been invited to submit their papers’ abstracts (in Persian, Arabic or English, maximum 8-10 pages), prior to 9 April 2013, to the secretariat of the conference at islamicmovements@ihcs.ac.ir.
Full papers should be sent not later than April 25.
