The conference encourages proposals in all areas of Quranic studies, but the conference organizers are particularly interested in proposals that demonstrate diverse ways of reading the Quran, from intertextual and thematic studies to close textual analyses that explore the relationship between structure and meaning in the Quran.
One of the key aims of the conference is to foster discussion between academics, community leaders, and students regarding the Quran and its various interpretations.
The conference will discuss the following topics among others: The Quran in dialogue with Jews and Christians; The Quran between faith and critical thinking; Quranic ethics; Gender in the Quran; Intertextual readings of the Quran; Thematic or stylistic analysis of individual Surahs.
