President Congratulates New Pope
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated the newly elected leader of the Catholic Church.
In his letter to Pope Francis, the president congratulated the new Pontif on his election.
Dr Ahmadinejad said Prophet Jesus (AS) and other Divine prophets gifted peace, friendship and kindness to humanity and brought the good news of prosperity and salvation for everyone.
The common mission of the Divine prophets was inviting people to monotheism, fighting injustice establishing justice, guiding human beings toward elevation, and fostering spirituality, he stated.
The president said today’s world is entangled in various economic, political and cultural crises and the need for reforming the unjust international structures is clear to everyone, stressing that it needs global cooperation based on the common teachings of Abrahamic faiths.
He hoped for establishment of justice and peace in the world and respect for human dignity by all countries and governments and wished health and success for the new Pope.
