Int’l Quran Contest to Open in Kuwait

The 4th edition of Kuwait’s International Holy Quran Competition will kick off in the capital city today, April 3.
According to head of the information dissemination committee Yaqub Al-Ahmed, a number of TV networks as well as radio stations in several Arab and Islamic countries will broadcast the competition live, Al-Shoruq daily reported.
He said the contest, which is held in categories like memorization of the entire Quran, the seven styles of recitation, and the best plan for serving the Holy Quran, will run until April 10.
The official added that information about the competition and footage and photos related to the previous editions of the event are available at the website of the competition.
Quran reciter Seyyed Mostafa Hosseini and memorizer of the entire Quran Hossein Mehdizadeh will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international competition.
