Mohammad Ansarifard made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the main theme of this year’s exhibition will be the Quranic style of life.
He said the 21st edition of the exhibition will kick off in a ceremony in the presence of President Ahmadinejad on the 25th of Sha’aban (July 4) and will run for a month.
The closing ceremony will be officiated by the next president (to be elected in the presidential polls slated for June 14), he stated, noting that this will be the only edition of the Quran exhibition inaugurated by one president and concluded by another.
According to Mr. Ansarifard, before the start of the exhibition, a congress of the country’s Quranic institutes will be held in Tehran.
He said representatives of nearly 1000 Quranic institutes will attend the congress on July 3. “There will be also a gathering of the Quran and Etrat experts of the culture ministry slated for July 2.”
The official further said that the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition will be held with a new approach compared to the previous years.
He said the international section of the exhibition will improve and more Quranic elites, including researchers, scholars and artists from different Muslim world countries will attend the section.
“More than ten countries will be attending the 21st edition of the exhibition,” Mr. Ansarifard stated.
Referring to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei’s emphasis on the Islamic and Quranic lifestyle, he said all the participants in the exhibition will showcase their activities with the theme of Quranic lifestyle.
He went on to say that some of the sections of the exhibition will be merged and this year’s edition will have 35 sections.
The International Holy Quran Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is annually held during the holy month of Ramadan, putting on display Quranic and Islamic arts, books, and studies as well as the accomplishments of Quranic activities.
Every year, millions of Quran devotees visit the international event at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) in Tehran.
