Mosque Opened in Russian Prison

The government of Russia has opened a mosque in one of the country’s jails.
Prison No 46 in the city of Nevyansk, center of Russia, now has a mosque in which the Muslim inmates can observe their religious rites, IQNA’s Europe branch reports.
In a speech delivered at the opening ceremony, the warden Illia Chekin said the mosque has been established in the prison to provide a proper venue for Muslim inmates to say their prayers.
The warden underlined that Islamic prayers encourage people to move toward the truth and goodness.
Russia has a large Muslim minority estimated at around 20 million.
