Beirut Hosting Int’l Conference of “Islam and Sedition of Takfir”

An international conference entitled “Islam and the Sedition of Takfir” will start in the Lebanese capital of Beirut this afternoon.
Muslim scholars from 32 countries will discuss the main issues of the Muslim world and the current challenges facing Muslims, nna.leb.gov website reported.
Islam and multiplicity of schools of thought, Takfir (considering one’s fellow Muslim as infidel) in history, and Takfir and Muslim world’s sufferings are the three main themes of the event.
Some of the subthemes to be discussed in the two-day conference include: the need for upholding Islamic unity despite multiplicity of sects, reasons and causes of Takfir, the impact of Takfir in the unity of the Ummah, and the media’s role in Takfir.
Ayatollah Mohesn Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be among the participants at the Beirut conference.
