British Muslim lord Nazir Ahmad and Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the head of Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, opened The Revelation of Mercy Festival in London on Monday.
This one week long event centers on the Quran - the Muslim Holy Book - that was revealed to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in the month of Ramadan. The aim is to promote the Quran's message of peace and mercy - to non Muslims but also between Muslims as well.
That information included Quran’s translated into many different languages. Today the universal message of the Quran is truly global.
Also other Islamic books on history, women’s rights - and of course something to occupy the little ones - and some books for them to take home too.
There was also a serious message of unity.
This was a sentiment echoed by scholars from different schools of thought throughout the event.
And that is the hope - that this week - all Muslims - and even non-Muslims - gather here to give a platform and remember the true message of the Quran.
