Mauritania’s Nat’l Mus’haf on Display at Int’l Quran Exhibition

The national Mus’haf of Mauritania is on show at the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition.
Visitors can see the copy of the Quran in the Quran and Culture of Nations Section of the exhibition.
Al-Haj Ali Ahmed Bah who is in charge of Mauritania’s pavilion at the section told IQNA that calligraphing the national Mus’haf based on Warsh narration was completed a year ago and it is now displayed at Tehran Quranic event for the first time.
He said a number of Quran calligraphers of Mauritania’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry calligraphed the copy at the order of the country’s President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
Al-Haj Ali Ahmed Bah, who is a memorizer of the entire Quran and a Quran instructor in his country, said that as well as the National Mus’haf, the pavilion has displayed a wooden tablet that showcases the method of Quran education in Mauritania in about 200 years ago.
He said in this method, which is already used for Quran instruction, students learn both reading and writing the verses of the Quran and can better memorize the verses.
The Mauritanian Quran memorizer went on to say that a number of books on the history of Islam and the events of Ashura are also on show at the pavilion.
