Dubai Man Creates World's 1st Quran in Embroider
A Dubai based Syrian businessman has scripted the world's first Quran entirely in embroidery.
Mohammad Mahir Hadri, who is in his 50s, came up with a new form of art that's a blend of calligraphy and embroidery.
Hadri used an ordinary sewing machine, silk yarn, velvet sheets and his skilful hands to create Arabic words, verses from the Quran and calligraphic designs, without the aid of technology or any margins and lines.
The artwork is being currently exhibited at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, as part of the Dubai International Holy Quran Awards (DIHQA) exhibition.
Hadri, whose work has attracted a lot of attention and acclaim, said that this is the first time he is exhibiting the entire Quran.
The embroidered Quran contains 426 pages, weighs 200 kilogrammes and is worth 5 million euros.
