The More One’s Faith in God, The More Their Love for Their Spouse

Head of Qom Seminary’s Quran Studies Society said according to a Hadith by the Holy prophet (PBUH), the stronger one’s faith in God becomes, the more will be their love for their spouse.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Reza Moaddab made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that Muslim men and women can assess their faith by how they love their spouse.
He highlighted the significant status of family in Islam, saying that in view of Islam, forming a family has numerous advantages, one being that it saves the society from instability.
The cleric cited verses 21 of Surah Al-Rum, “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought”, saying that one of the functions of family is bringing about calm and peace for the couple.
He underlined that a husband and wife’s affection toward one another strengthen the institution of family, saying that according to a Hadith by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the stronger one’s faith in God becomes, the more will be their love for their spouse.
He further criticized the rising age of marriage as a harmful trend for the society, especially the youth, saying that based on another Hadith by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), when someone gets married in teenage years, Satan will get upset.
