Egyptian TV host and media activist Amr Al-Laithi interviewed Sheikh Ezzat Rashed and his son al-Sayed after their glorious success.
In this program, the father and son performed a beautiful recitation of the Quran that was well received by the audience and displayed the beautiful voice and spirituality of their recitation.
It was a recitation that expressed the deep bond between father and son in their journey with the Quran.
Al-Sayed, 12, said he had memorized 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran and considered it a source of pride and honor to receive the title of “World’s Pioneering Qari” after winning the Al-Ameed international Quran competition in Iraq.
“I was very happy to receive this title and the first thing I said after winning was the name of my country, Egypt, and that made me happy more than anything,” he said.
The young Egyptian qari said that this was the first time he had received this title.
Sheikh Ezzat Rashed also explained that he participated in the adult category of the competition last year and his son participated in the junior category this year.
He stressed that their victory was a proud moment for his family and the entire Egyptian people.
“Thank God, we have been blessed by God. I won last year and my son won this year, and this is a great blessing from God.”
