Nabi Akram (PBUH) Islamic Center Promoting Shia Teachings in Zambia

Founded in 2008, Nabi Akram (PBUH) Islamic Center in Kataba, Zambia, is known for its great role in disseminating Shia teachings in this country.
According to Iran’s Cultural Center in Zambia, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Asadi Mowahhed, Iranian cultural attaché in this country said that he paid a visit to the Islamic center to investigate the activities and problems of the center and Shia Muslims of the region.
He added that he was accompanied with a Pakistani Shia Muslim in this trip which was made in late August.
The Iranian official said that they were welcomed by Hussein Masaka, director of the center, a group of Muslims and students of the center.
The director explained activities of the center and the Iranian attaché asked the students some religious questions and answered their questions.
Asadi Mowahhed noted that the center was established by him as an elementary school in 2008 and now 80 students are studying in different levels at the school.
“If directed under precise supervision, the school will become one of the most influential centers for training and educating Shia Muslim teenagers,” he added.
The scholar also stressed the necessity of making use of an African Quran expert and a religious preacher at the center.
