Leaders of Divine Religions to Meet in Kazakhstan

A congress of Divine religions’ leaders will be held today, September 25, in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization announced that it is a special session on the 10th anniversary of the congress of the leaders of the world’s Divine religions.
Mohammad Bagher Khorramshad, the chief of the organization and who leads the Iranian delegation to Kazakhstan, will present a speech at the session.
Ali Mohammad Helmi, head of the Center for Interfaith Dialogue of the organization and Abdul-Hussein Khosrow Panah, head of Islamic Modern Wisdom Institute will also be among the speakers of the programs.
The Iranian delegation will visit Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture, Grand Mufti and head of the country’s Agency for Religious Affairs and will discuss mutual cooperation.
The Iranian representatives will also attend a meeting with the rector of Eurasia University and deans of various faculties of the university to investigate relations and cooperation among universities and scientific, cultural, educational and research centers of the two countries.
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev pushed the idea for a Congress forward to help Kazakhstan's faiths dialogue with each other about mounting religious tensions growing in the world.
There are over 140 ethnic and 40 religious groups in Kazakhstan.
