“Abolfazl (AS)” Int’l Quranic Festival Begins in Karbala

The first edition of “Abolfazl (AS)” International Quranic Festival began today, October 30, by the Holy Quran Center of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Section of Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.
According to the information website of the holy shrine, the opening ceremony of the festival was held at 9 a.m. local time at “Imam Musa Kazem (AS)” Hall of the shrine.
Quran recitation and speeches to be presented by representatives of the Quranic center and the holy shrine’s custodianship, head of the Iraqi Shias Endowments Office, representative of Iranian Quranic society and Al-Azhar University are among the programs of the opening ceremony.
The festival will include an international forum of Quranic institutes to be organized tomorrow, October 31, at “Sayyed-ol-Shohada (AS)" Complex.
Hazrat Abbas (AS) Section of the holy shrine will host a Quran recitation session today at 9 p.m. local time.
“The role of Hazrat Abbas (AS) in manifestation of Quranic concepts” will be the theme of a forum to be held on October 31 at Imam Musa Kazem (AS) Hall of the holy shrine where various characteristic aspects of Hazrat Abbas (AS) will also be investigated.
A national Quran memorization and recitation contest has been planned for the teenagers on the sidelines of the festival.
The international Quranic festival will conclude on November 1 and winners of the Quran contest and participants at the forums will be awarded at the closing ceremony to be held from 9 a.m. local time.
