Al-Sadeqi who represents his country in the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students said such contests bring together Muslims following various schools of thought under the banner of the Quran.
He further said the participation of Shia and Sunni Muslims in the students’ Quran competition is a reflection of the motto of the contest, namely “Quran: Harbinger of Unity and Human Dignity”.
Elsewhere in his remarks, al-Sadeqi described the level of contenders in the contest as high and thanked the organizers on behalf of Iraq’s Quranic community.
The 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students got underway on Thursday, January 1, at Tehran’s Milad Tower, with the participation of nearly 70 Quran reciters and memorizers from 47 countries.
It will come to an end on Sunday night in a ceremony where winners of different categories will be awarded.
