Zionist Regime Illegally Demolished 77 Palestinian Houses This Week
United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said 77 Palestinian families, half of them children, have been rendered homeless in the past week, PIC reported.
The statement said some demolished structures were provided by the international community to shelter poor Palestinian families.
“Demolitions that result in forced evictions and displacement run counter to Israel’s obligations under international law and create unnecessary suffering and tension. They must stop immediately,” said the OCHA statement.
House destruction took place mainly in East Jerusalem in addition to the cities of Ramallah, Jericho and al-Khalil.
According to OCHA figures, the Zionist regime razed 590 units last year, displacing 1,177 Palestinians. It is considered a record number compared to the past six years, it added.
