3 Seminars Planned on Sidelines of Nat’l Quran Contest in Tabriz

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Three Quranic seminars are planned to be held on the sidelines of the 37th national Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is according to head of the Quranic Affairs Center of Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, who added that 13 committees have been set up for best holding the competition and its sideline program.
The Northwestern city of Tabriz, capital of East Azarbaijan province, will host the competition in February, IRNA reported. 
“Quran in Tabriz”, “Allameh Tabatabei and the Quran”, and “Master Shahriar and the Quran” are the titles of the three seminars, Hosseini noted. 
Allameh Mohammad Hossein Tabatabei (1903- 1981) was a great Muslim scholar, philosopher and Mufasir (Quran commentator) who was famous for his Al-Mizan Quran exegesis.
Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Behjat-Tabrizi (1906- 1988), mainly known by his pen name, Shahriar was a famous Iranian Azerbaijani poet. 
Both men were from the city of Tabriz.
