Winners of Int’l Quran Competition in Qatar Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Winners of the 4th edition of Tijan Al-Noor international Quran recitation competition in Qatar were announced.


According to Aljazeera.net, the annual program is produced by Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC) with the participation of children aged between 9 and 13.

This year, 1371 children from 51 countries took part at the Quranic event.

Idris Nawaz from America, Riman Sadiq from Yemen and Abdul Rahman Warash from Morocco respectively won the first to the third ranks and were awarded 27000, 20000 and 14000 Dollars.

Sa’d bin Salih Al-Hudaifi, director of the channel, said that Tijan Al-Noor is one of the most important Quran competitions in the Arab and Muslim world since it provides children with an opportunity to learn Tajweed and principles of Quran recitation and showcase their talent.

This edition of the Quran competition was held from August 2014 and 37 boys and 14 girls were selected to compete in the final stage.
