Recitation by Late Qari Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna on Egyptian Quran Radio
This program, which will be broadcast from August 10, 2026 at 20:55 local time, is part of the rare recitations series of Egyptian Quran Radio, which is broadcast under the title “Pearls of Quran Radio”, el-Balad reported.
Sheikh Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna is one of the prominent figures of the Egyptian Quran recitation school. His voice is recognizable to listeners with its distinctive and unique characteristics. A combination of power and tenderness is found in the resonance of this late Egyptian qari’s recitation.
His recitation captivates the heart with its sense of dignity, grandeur and reverence.
Sheikh Al-Banna was born on December 17, 1926, in the village of Shubra Bas, located in the Shabin Al-Kum region of Menoufia Governorate, Egypt. He was confirmed as the official reciter of Egyptian Radio in 1948, at the age of 22, coinciding with his birthday.
Al-Banna lived for 59 years, dedicating 36 years of it to continuous service to the Book of God through recitation and Tajweed. The Egyptian reciter died on July 20, 1985.
