Speaking at a ceremony held to commemorate martyrs in Beirut, Lebanon, he added that Hezbollah resistance movement has stood up against Takfiri terrorists just as it has confronted the Zionist regime, al-Ahd news website reported.
His comments came as Syrian government forces backed by Hezbollah fighters managed to drive Takfiri terrorists out of an area in the strategic Qalamoun region, north of Damascus and along the border with neighboring Lebanon.
On Saturday, the joint forces established full control over the Jibba Barrens district, and destroyed a number of vehicles rigged with explosives that the terrorists were planning to use in order to target the Lebanese territories.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Naeem Qassem referred to the situation in Yemen and described the Saudi-led aggression on the impoverished country as a real crime.
He further praised the Yemeni nation for their resistance and steadfastness against aggression and underlined that Yemen will be victorious.
Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.
The Saudi military campaign has reportedly claimed the lives of over 1,200 people so far and injured thousands of others. Hundreds of women and children are among the victims, according to the World Health Organization.
