Finalists of Dubai Int'l Holy Quran Award to Recite for Panel

TEHRAN (IQNA) – As many as 20 contestants have so far sat for the final examinations of the international Quran competition - the main branch of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA), which started at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday night, June 24.

Six of the seven contestants, who were examined on Friday night, recite the Quran as per Hafs Riwaya or school of recitation, while the seventh adopts the Warsh Riwaya. The seven competitors included Abdul Rahman Majeed Yaseen Al-Habeeb - Iraq, Abdoulazez Ahmad A Ghani - Qatar, Hamzah Elhabashy - USA, Niyitunga Zaidi - Burundi, Soibahoudine Ahamada - Union Des Comores, Mohammed Fathie Abdulhalem Ja’afar - Philippines, and Simadeddine Hazyoun – The Netherlands, GToday reported.

Seven more memorisers are to appear on the stage on Saturday night, June 27, at the Chamber situated on the Dubai Creek. Those are Mohammad Hossein Behzadfar - Iran, Adam Hissen Youssouf - Chad, Bilal Chamssi Morocco, Muhammad Syazani Bin Jemy - Malaysia, Hamsa Muhyadin Rage Afrah - Kenya, Mohamad Chaabo - Australia, and Diaby Abdoulaye - Congo Brazzaville, .
