According to Ava news agency, the opening function was held on Thursday with the participation of government officials, religious scholars, university professors and hundreds of Kabul residents.
It has been organized at Jameat-ul-Zahra (SA) Mosque by the Supreme Quran Council of Afghanistan.
Abbas Hassanzadeh, the head of the council, in an address to the opening ceremony said the exhibition is aimed at helping people benefit more from the spiritual blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.
He added that the Quranic event can also help to promote Islamic unity, peace and security in society.
Also speaking at the program was Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Issa Hosseini Mazari, the representative of grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi in Afghanistan, who said mounting such exhibitions is in line with promoting the Quranic culture.
He underlined that acting upon the teachings of the Holy Quran will help the society move towards stability, peace, and progress in various areas.
The people of Afghanistan are more than ever in need of following the Quranic teachings and commandments, he added.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mazari also urged the Afghan people to massively participate in the upcoming International Quds Day rallies.
The annual rallies are held worldwide on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan in support of the cause of Palestine.
Iranian cultural attaché in Afghanistan Nasser Jahanshahi also delivered a speech at the ceremony, saying that Muslims around the world must follow the teachings of the Quran as the pivot of unity.
The 7th Bahar-e Quran Exhibition will run in the Afghan capital city for ten days. It welcomes visitors every day from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
