According to Bahrain News Agency, the Office for Quranic Affairs of the ministry organizes the annual program.
Farid ibn Ya’qub Al-Miftah, deputy of the ministry, said that those willing to participate in the competition should register at the website of the program and send an audio or video file of their Quran recitation.
He said that the judging board of the competition which comprise Quran experts from Bahrain and other countries will evaluate the recitations in five stages and select five finalists.
The finalists should compete in Bahrain and the top one will be introduced as the best Quran reciter of the world, he added.
The official noted that the difference between this competition and other Quranic competitions is that there is no limitation for the number or the age of participants and every one interested in the competition can attend it from all over the world.
Al-Miftah said that serving the Holy Quran and encouraging all age groups to recite the Divine verses is the main objective of the competition.
