TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Kuwaiti criminal court will on Tuesday issue its verdicts on a bomb attack that targeted Shia worshipers at Imam Sadiq (AS) Mosque in Kuwait City in June.

According to Al-Alam News Network, 29 people have been tried in the court accused of taking part in the terrorist attack.

The defendants faced charges varying from using explosives for murder to joining terrorist groups and trying to topple the Kuwaiti monarchy.

7 of the defendants are Kuwaitis while the rest are from other countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

26 people were killed and more than 220 others injured in the bomb attack at Imam Sadiq (AS) Mosque on June 26.

The terrorist attack was carried out during the weekly Friday prayers at the mosque in the Sawabir district of the Kuwaiti capital.
