Winners of “Amir Al-Qurra” Quran Competition in Iraq Awarded

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 10 top participants in the first edition of Iraq’s national Quran competition, titled “Amir Al-Qurra”, were awarded in a ceremony in the holy city of Karbala.


According to Al-Kafeel website, the closing ceremony of the competition was held on October 9 at “Imam Musa Kazim (AS)” Hall of the courtyard of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in the city.





The Holy Quran Center affiliated to the Quranic Institute of the holy shrine organized the national Quranic event in line with “Amir Al-Qurra” plan which aims to identify Quranic talents of the region.





The first stage of the plan was held among the students of elementary and secondary schools all over the country.





The two-month plan continued during the summer vacations.





In the second stage of the plan, which was held in the form of the national competition, 90 Quran reciters from different provinces of Iraq participated.





Ali Al-Bayati, executive director of the plan, said that various Quran recitation styles of Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, Sheikh Shahat Muhammad Anwar, and Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi have been taught as a part of the Quranic plan.





Ali Abdul Hamid, Najm Kamil, Muhammad Hassan, Hashim Abbas, Amir Ali, Muhammad Taqi Ziya, Zain-ul-Abidin Abbas, Zargham Jahad, Muqtada Mundhar and Tariq Abdul Wahid were selected as 10 top participants in the first edition of the competition.
