7th Int’l Quran Competition Kicks Off in Sudan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th edition of “Khartoum Award” international Quran competition in Sudan began on January 6.


According to the Holy Quran Association of Sudan, the competition, which features memorization, Tajweed principles and interpretation of Quran, will continue until January 13.

The international Quranic event has been organized for male Quran activists who compete in the memorization of the entire Quran along with the interpretation of Quranic terms of the 24th part of the Quran.

Participants from non-Muslim countries compete in the memorization of three Juzes (parts) of the Quran and are also scored on proper observation of Tajweed principles.

The competition is largely covered by the African country's media.

The closing ceremony of the Quranic program will be held on January 13.
