TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quranic session that is held every week at the University of Alberta in Canada’s Edmonton has been canceled until further notice.

The Tasnim Students Association organizes the weekly program.

It includes reading verses from the Quran and interpreting the verses based on Al-Mizan Quran Exegesis.

It has been called off over concerns about an outbreak of the coronavirus.

Organizers may decide to hold the event online.

The first case of the novel coronavirus disease in Canada was confirmed on January 25, when a man returned to Toronto after travelling in Wuhan, China. As of March 14, there were 341 cases of COVID-19 reported in the country, with one death and 11 recoveries.
