The terrorist elements had launched an offensive against military centers in al-Rasafa desert southwest of Raqqa Governorate, but the army forces thwarted the attack, a source said, RT Arabic reported.
During clashes with Daesh on Monday night, at least 15 terrorists were killed and injured and several motorcycles were confiscated by the government forces.
Daesh terrorists recently amped up their attacks in both Syria and Iraq, taking advantage of the coronavirus pandemic as well as taking a little help from the West to go against the Syrian and Iraqi armed forces in the region.
While Daesh terrorists have lost territories in both Iraq and Syria between 2017 and 2019, it has since then been relying on sleeper cells to carry out attacks between the desert region of both countries.
