He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony on Tuesday in Tehran to introduce the newly-appointed head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

“The administration seeks to organize cultural activities and all members are unanimous on this point. And we should strengthen the field of international cultural activities by using young, revolutionary, and change-seeking individuals,” said the minister.

Lauding the efforts of former head of ICRO Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, the minister said Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour, is coming from inside the organization and was appointed as the new head after approval of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

There are no excuses for the failure of transformation in ICRO, he said, adding that the current situation must improve. He voiced his strong support for the transformational programs of Imanipour.

Addressing the ceremony, Imanipour said that he will follow up transformational plans at three organizational, national, and international levels.

He said a new generation of Iranian cultural offices is on the horizon.

In the decree on November 17, the culture minister called on Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour to work for the development of international cultural relations by making the most of the country’s and the culture ministry’s cultural capacities.

He also called for promoting the Islamic Republic of Iran’s cultural stances and objectives in the world, expanding cultural relations with neighboring countries, developing cultural and interfaith dialogue, and benefiting from the cultural capacities of international organizations like ECO, ISESCO, International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and others.
