Veteran Quran Activists to Be Honored at Upcoming Ceremony Named

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The names of those planned to be honored at a ceremony dubbed ‘A Lifetime with Quran’ were announced.

The 19th edition of the ceremony will be held here in the Iranian capital on December 17.

The Quran Cultural Center will organize the event in cooperation with Tehran Municipality’s Cultural and Art Organization.

Ali Akbar Toupchi, Mohamamd Abbasi, Morteza Labani, Ahmad Abolqassemi, Abbas Akhavayn and Ozra Roshandel are among the Quranic figures whose achievements and services to the Holy Book will be appreciated at the ceremony.

They have been selected in different categories like Quran recitation, teaching, art, management and refereeing.

The Mellat Cineplex in Tehran will host the ceremony on Friday. It will include Quran recitations by Abbas Salimi and Ahmad Abolqassemi and Ibtihal recitation by Hassan Khanchi.  

“A Lifetime with the Quran” ceremony is annually held in mid-Ramadan, which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS).

Its 19th edition had been slated for 2020 but was postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
