In a statement on the anniversary of the battle, also known as the 22-Day War, Hamas vowed those behind the massacre of Gaza children and women in that war will be brought to justice, the resistance movement’s website reported.
The statement said those crimes will not be forgotten with the passage of time and the Palestinian people will not forgive those who perpetrated them.
It said inclusive resistance, especially armed resistance, and Intifada are the way to restore the rights of the Palestinian people, defend their sanctities, principles and prisoners, and end the Zionist regime’s violations and aggression.
Hamas also described securing the release of all Palestinian men and women being held in Israeli jails as one of its national missions.
It said Zionist troops captured by the resistance forces will not be released before heroic Palestinian prisoners are set free.
Elsewhere, Hamas referred to the blockade of the Gaza Strip that has continued for more than 15 years and warned of the consequences of the siege.
The resistance group called on the Arab and Muslim Ummah and freedom-seekers in the world to work to put an end to the oppressive blockade of Gaza.
The 22 Day Gaza War was the Zionist regime’s three-week brutal invasion of the Gaza Strip.
It began on December 27, 2008, and ended on January 18th, 2009.
The Israeli regime killed many innocent civilians in the 22-day aggression on Gaza.
