Abdul Aziz Saleh bin Habtour said Martyr Soleimani surmounted all the obstacles on the path of confrontation with the US-Zionist project, al-Ahed News reported.
Habtour made the remarks in a ceremony held in Sana’a on Monday to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of General Soleimani.
He also said Yemen is part of the axis of resistance against the US-Zionist project and that the country will remain in solidarity with the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon and elsewhere in the world.
Allameh Muhammad Miftah, head of Yemen’s Scholars Association, was another speaker at the ceremony.
In his speech, he warned of the arrogant powers’ plot to take advantage of sectarian and tribal issues to foment discord in the Muslim Ummah.
He also urged resistance movements in Palestine to remain vigilant and move to strengthen their military, security, technical and scientific capacities.
Lieutenant General Soleimani, along with deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and their companions were assassinated by the US on January 3, 2020.
The drone strike that assassinated the commanders was ordered by former American president Donald Trump.
The atrocity came at the height of the heroes’ popularity for their helping out Iraq and Syria defeat the Takfiri terrorist group of Daesh.
Millions of people attended funeral ceremonies of the martyrs which were held in various cities such as Baghdad, Ahvaz, Tehran, and Kerman.
