TEHRAN (IQNA) – A spokesman of al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the only country that stood up to the US after the World War II.

Nasr al-Shammari made the remarks in a webinar hosted by IQNA on Tuesday. Titled “Islamic Revolution Discourse; Software of Resistance in the World”, the webinar was broadcast live from Instagram.

Al-Shammari stressed that after World War II, only the Islamic Republic was able to stand up to the United States, referring to Iran’s two public slaps against the United States, namely the capture of the “Den of Spies” and the attack on the Ayn al-Asad Airbase.

He called the dawn of the Islamic Revolution of Iran “the end of centuries of oppression and darkness that, like a shining sun, illuminates our time and the next eras.”

Al-Shammari continued by praising the leadership of Imam Khomeini, saying “From the first days of the victory of this blessed revolution, the concerns and worries of the whole world was to be aware of the nature of this revolution. Nevertheless, a good voice shouted that ‘this [revolution] is neither Eastern nor Western, but rather it is an Islamic revolution that has sprung from the heart of Islam and its teachings and principles.’”

He called the driving force of the Islamic Revolution “the blood of the believing and Muslim youth” and added, “The policy of this revolution is Islam and its bases are Islamic countries. Its enemy is also the arrogant powers of the world, wherever their evil horns have penetrated.”

Recalling the fact that in the period leading up to the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the world was divided between two blocs – socialist communism and the capitalist West, the spokesman of al-Nujaba added, “Both blocs saw the Islamic world as an enemy that they had to weaken and control.”

Al-Shammari, citing examples of the tyrannical invasion of the two axes in the farthest corners of the world, said, “At that time, no one even dared to protest. But with the dawn of this blessed revolution, the nations of the world became familiar with new terms such as ‘resistance’ and ‘endurance’ and ‘confrontation with the arrogant powers of the world.’”

He noted in this regard, “The world also saw young people with the image of the righteous who closed the embassy of the Zionist regime and raised the flag of the Palestinian state. This happened after the Arab governments in the corridors of surrender and compromise in order to abandon the issue of Palestine and were on the verge of it.”

The official spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement referred to the capture of the “Den of Spies” (the embassy of the United States in Tehran) and stated, “The world had never seen anything like this blessed move. In such a way that the mouths of the bravest people remained opened out of surprise because they did not think that a country would be able to confront the United States openly in the post-World War II world.”

Al-Shammari further added, “After this first slap, another public slap must be recalled, which also came from the Islamic Republic of Iran – wherein, after Trump’s great crime and the assassination of the martyred commanders (Haj Qasem Soleimani and Haj Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis), he openly targeted the American base at Ayn al-Asad in Iraq.”

In another part of his speech, he emphasized, “Today, we all see and know that wherever there is a battle against the arrogant powers of the world and the Zionist regime or occupation and domination by the United States is present, undoubtedly, the blessed hands of the Islamic Republic and the spirit of its great founder must be found, as well as the approval of the Supreme Leader (may God protect him).”

In conclusion, the high-ranking member of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance paid tribute to the late Imam Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] and the martyrs of Islam, and stated, “In the Islamic Resistance, we owe everything we have, including taking a stand, our weapons and strength of heart in the face of the arrogant powers, to this great revolution. The revolution that the martyr Sayyid Muhammad-Baqir al-Sadr described as ‘the dream of the prophets’ and addressing the children of Islam, stressed the need to ‘melt in this revolution and its founder, Imam Khomeini.’”
